German pilsners are a classic beer style, and unlike what many Americans know as pilsner beers. A German pilsner is pale, dry and crisp with a greater hop presence than the macro-lagers most of us know. Clean and refreshing, this beer features German noble hops bitterness and flavor. German pilsner is a lager, so it requires temperature control during fermentation at around 50 degrees, and can benefit from a period of cold storage of 4 weeks at 40 degrees or less. For best results, a yeast starter is highly recommended, or purchase multiple packages of yeast.

German Pilsner - Extract Recipe Kit Instructions
Style Overview:
Getting its heritage from the Bohemian Pilsner, the classic German Pilsner is a refreshing dry lager. With a rich and dense head and a nice, light straw to almost golden color, this beer is a treat for all of the senses. Brewed using the Noble hops (Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, Tettnanger, Czech Saaz, and Spalt), this brew has a wonderful hop profile. The Noble hops exude floral or spicy aroma and flavor, but with a hint of citrus tones that make the bitter qualities quite enjoyable
