The White IPA is one of the newest sub-styles of IPA, and it’s the perfect Spring/Summer beer for those who love hops as well as those who love fruity/spicy beers. This beer is a combination of what we love about Witbiers- spicy, light, fruity, and refreshing- combined with American citrusy hops to make an IPA (we Americans are pretty good at doing that, huh?). With a little fruit, a little spice, and a lot of hops, this beer marries the best of both worlds.
Our recommendation is to use the Belgian Wit yeast strains listed, but if you're new to White IPAs, you may go with a more neutral American Ale yeast for a “cleaner” IPA flavor. Both will give great results.

India Pale Ale came into the brewing scene as a measure in practicality actually. In the 1700s, sailers had trouble getting their beers to India due to the long voyage around the Cape of Good Hope. Brewers would add larger additions of hops, and increase the alcohol content, and thus, the beers could survive the voyage in a time before refrigeration and avoid being flat and sour upon arrival.
